The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Known as "The Shortest Railway in the World", the Angel's Flight funicular in the Bunker Hill district of downtown Los Angeles was used to transport people up and down the very steep slope between Olive and Hill streets.
